Subscribers to the Trafficmaster Live Traffic Information Service have full access to the map and its valuable
dynamic traffic information. Please note that after a period of inactivity the user will be returned to the log in page.
The map screen may take some time to load initially, however, if you
return to the map, in most cases, there will be no delay.
The traffic information is updated every 2 minutes and is the most comprehensive live traffic
information to be found anywhere in the world. You will need Flash 5 plug-in to view the map.
This can be downloaded from Macromedia. The Ticker Tape also displays
live information detailing congestion in the specific area of the map selected.
To navigate the map, simply click the cursor on the area of the country you wish to view. The map will centre on the selected area.
To reveal greater detail of the map click on the magnifying glass icon with the plus sign inside it (top left-hand corner of the frame).
To reduce the detail click the icon with the minus sign inside it.
Key: The flashing icons represent traffic speed in miles per hour and its direction. Yellow
icon = 20-25 m.p.h. Orange icon = 10-15 m.p.h. Red icon = 0-5 m.p.h.
The dark blue lines represent motorways. The roads shown in green are trunk-/A-roads and the
pale blue colour indicates a river. Blue boxes with the letter "S" denote service stations and
the light blue boxes containing numbers are motorway junctions. The aircraft symbol indicates the
location of UK airports.
If you are a member of the Trafficmaster Live Traffic Information Service and have set up a journey,
your journey delay times will appear at the bottom of the left-hand panel. This displays information
relating to your route and its current cumulative delay times For example, if your route "Home to Work"
showed a delay time of 45 minutes "Now", it means that at present there are 45 minutes worth of delays
on that route. This information is based on extensive databank information that is constantly being update
and monitored. If your query has not been answered by our help function, please contact us

As a member of Trafficmaster Live Traffic Information Service, you have full access to the invaluable and time-saving
services on offer. Setting up your personalised journeys in this section of the site enables you
to see the forecast journey information on the home page (bottom of left-hand panel), and also enables the set-up of alerts by
e-mail or SMS (Guard), advising of any change in delays on your intended journey. (See Alerts)
The first step is to set up a journey. To do this, select <journey>. You are
then requested to name your journey (this should be less than 12 characters
long so you may need to abbreviate where appropriate). e.g. Home to Work.
After clicking submit you will be presented with your journey summaries.
As your journey may consist of a number of roads you will need to set up individual legs. (e.g. if you travel on the M1 and
then on to the A6 you must enter each road as seperate 'legs').
Click on the text 'Edit', you will be presented with a page entitled 'Submit Your Journey'.
Select whether the first leg of your journey is 'Road Type' motorway or A road, then proceed to
the 'Start Point' field and click on the drop down arrow. You will be provided with a list of town/place names
or junctions to choose from. Select the option appropriate and move down to the 'End Point' field. From the options
click on the place/junction that the first leg of your journey finishes on, then click 'Save Leg'.
The screen will refresh and at the bottom of the page that first leg will be displayed.
If you then notice that the leg you have set up is incorrect at the bottom of the page there is an option that says 'Delete Last Leg'.
When all the legs have been completed, click on the word finish and your full journey will be saved.
If you experience problems in setting up your route and require further assistance, please call
the following telephone number where an operator will be pleased to assist.
0901 477 7777 (calls are charged at 60 pence per minute from a landline. Mobile costs vary).

Having saved your journey, you can set up an alert which will constantly update you of
changes to the traffic situation affecting your personalised route/s.
Select (Guard) from the links next to your journey summaries. Then decide on the type of guard you wish
to receive and how often you would like to be alerted. Please note that the SMS alert service is
currently only supported on Orange, Vodafone and Cellnet and that any SMS messages you receive, will be
charged at your current network operator's rate for standard SMS.
With the SMS alert, you can receive alerts updating your delays while you are travelling. You
can then phone 0901 884 9900 (calls are charged at 25 pence per minute from a landline. Mobile costs vary) for more detailed live
traffic information specific to your current journey. If you call this number expecting to
